ASE Immersion retreats are held at the charming villa Casa della Gioia with views over lake Maggiore, 1 hour from Milan airport.

Casa della Gioia is a charming nineteenth-century residence, which immediately makes you feel at home. Walking in the villa´s private park invites you to abandon, step by step, the tensions and stress of everyday life.
There are 14 rooms on the two upper floors with stunning views over the park and the magical lake Maggiore. A single room on the ground floor is available for physically challenged people, wheelchair present on site.

ASE Immersion is designed to uplift you on all levels. Nourish your body with organic food of your preference, freshly prepared for the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Invigorate your soul in the spacious villa, tranquil gardens and serene surroundings. Enjoy quiet time for yourself and stimulating discussions with like minded people.

ASE Immersion structure and activities

All the group activities listed below the following 6 days are optional and included in the ASE Immersion fee. Choose those that you feel drawn to and feel free to participate in all of them, or simply relax in the villa´s private enchanted parc or take a lakeside walk, explore the wilderness, or do sightseeing. It’s your retreat!

ASE Immersion structure and activities

Day 1

Arrival at Casa della Gioia during the afternoon.

17:00 – Welcome gathering, introductions and clarifying everyone’s intention for attending the retreat. Facilitated by the ASE Team

18:00 – 19:00 – Nia Session – Nia is a transformational movement healing technique. Guided by Cecile

19:30 – Dinner

After dinner – Guided Open Awareness group meditation and sharing circle. Facilitated by Jevon

Day 2

7:00 – 8:00 – Yoga – based on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, allowing the body to move whilst keeping awareness on the breath and the sensations within the body. Facilitated by Malin

8:15 – 9:15 – Breakfast

9.30 – 10.30 – Introduction to Open Awareness and practice session, with Jevon

10:30 – 11:30 – Jumi (judo mind) session – The core objective of jumi is to develop open awareness (embodied mindfulness) and the ability to maintain it in all contexts. Facilitated by Jevon

11.45 – 12.45 – Introduction to ASE methodology and applications, with Jevon

12:45 – Lunch

14:00 – 15:00 – Self-Compassion & Mindfulness – Cultivating self-compassion is important at any point in our lives, but it is particularly important when we have difficult, strong and often overwhelming emotions arise. By working on self-compassion we can hold space for these difficult emotions and be kind towards ourselves no matter what we are experiencing. During this workshop we will learn how to generate greater compassion through a mindfulness practice. Presented by Jules.

15:15 – 16:45 – Nature’s Way Process – attuning our collective consciousness as a group with the presence of trees & earth for ecological (win-win-win) inspiration. Facilitated by Jevon

17:00 – 17:45 – Conscious Breathing exercise – diffuse stress and align your mind-body-soul. Guided by an ASE team member

18:00 – 19:00 – Nia Session – Guided by Cecile

19:30 – Dinner

After dinner – Social or Silence – Choose your preference – a social gathering or a silent space around the fireplace in the lounge or garden.

Day 3

7:00 – 8:00 – Yoga – with Malin

8:15 – 9:15 – Breakfast

9.30 – 10.30 – Life Transitions & Transformation – How do we navigate the bridge that takes us from a life of ‘crisis’ to a life of purpose? During this workshop we will explore the psychological and spiritual process of going through life transitions, including how times of ‘crisis’ can be catalysts for a transitional process that leads to the transformation of our whole self. Presented by Jules.

10:45 – 12:45 – Open Awareness in Nature session with Jevon

12:45 – Lunch

14:00 – 15:00 – Nonviolent Communication – Discover the connecting power of empathy and compassion. How to communicate clearly and effectively in all relationships. Presented by Mark

15:15 – 16:00 – Jumi (judo mind) practice to enhance empathy and compassion. Facilitated by Jevon

16:15 – 17.00 – Conscious Breathing exercise – diffuse stress and align your mind-body-soul. Guided by an ASE team member

17:00 – 17:45 – Sharing Circle – space for free/creative expression. Guided by an ASE team member

18:00 – 19:00 – Nia Session – Guided by Cecile

19:30 – Dinner

After dinner – Social or Silence – Choose your preference – a social gathering or a silent space around the fireplace in the lounge or garden.

Day 4

7:00 – 8:00 – Yoga – with Malin

9.30 – 10.00 – Sharing Circle – space for free/creative expression. Guided by an ASE team member

10.00 – 11.00 – Nonviolent Communication – Learn how to listen beyond words and hear what is not being said. Putting empathy and compassion to practice in everyday life. Presented by Mark

11:15 – 12.45 – ASE Facilitator training session. Facilitated by Jevon

12:45 – Lunch

14:00 – 14.30 – Awarenessing– open awareness embodiment – group session with Jevon

14.30 – 17:45 – ASE Facilitator training & practice (with break time). Facilitated by Jevon

After dinner – Contemplative Sharing Circle – open group gathering
