Storytelling is the most ancient of the healing arts. The way of the storyteller is about more than just telling stories. At it’s core it is a way of seeing and interacting with the world through the stories that are constantly unfolding inside and around us.
Classic teaching stories remind us that our lives ebb and flow; always moving between our youth stories, that teach us to triumph; our mid-life stories, that help us to transform, and our elder stories that remind us that eventually triumph and transformation must give way to transcendence and acceptance.
This training is a stand-alone training and is open to anyone who has taken Taoism, Anatomy and Sequencing and Embracing the Yin Path as well as any dedicated yoga students or teachers who are interested in deepening their practice. If you haven’t studied with me before and plan on coming to the third module only, then I ask that you get a copy of The Yin Yoga Kit and familiarize yourself with the basic concepts, and do some of the practices in the book or CD.
In these Storytelling workshops we explore the path of the storyteller. Through classic stories we will look at how our own life stories can become our teaching stories, and how as teachers, parents and humans, storytelling helps us share the truth of our own experience. As part of unfolding our stories we will use Yin Yoga, body meditations and sacred sound to look within our own bodies at the places where we so often hold our deepest truths.
